One Year Diploma in Offshore Safety – What does it offer?
Diploma in Offshore Safety is a specialized qualification for people who are associated with offshore oil and gas industry and are directly responsible for ensuring safety for men and machinery as part of their daily duties. The safety program on Offshore Safety, initiated by the Government of India, deals with Occupational Safety issues associated with offshore work activities. The course content and curriculum are exclusively designed so that it can be easily followed and understood by all kinds of people across the globe and also by workers at different levels of their career. The course provides an insight on topics like Basic Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Prevention and Safety, offshore Safety, etc.
How will you be assessed?
One needs to clear four theory papers and a practical assessment:
PAPER I – BASIC SAFETY ENGINEERING
PAPER 2 – OCCUPATION HEALTH AND SAFETY
PAPER 3 – FIRE PREVENTION AND CONTROL
PAPER 4 – OFF SHORE SAFETY.
Examination details:
There will be a written examination for Paper 1 & 2 with 10 questions to answer (without choice). The duration of the test will be two hours and will carry 100 marks.
Similarly, Paper 4 & 5 should be answered in two hours. Candidates should answer 10 questions (without choice) which carry a total 100 marks.
Seminar on Offshore Safety
A seminar will be held at GWG Business Center, Chennai, India, when a suitable number of candidates for the batch are available during the programme. However, attendance is not compulsory for the twelve-day seminar. Fee will be charged to attend the seminar.
To clear doubts in the subjects concerned, experts will be available on all days and can be contacted through mails and other mode of communication.
Will course material be provided?
Students can get their course material of international standard published by the Green World Group. The publication is promoted by the government of India.
About certification
Candidates, who successfully complete the course, will be awarded with a certificate within 30 days after the publication of results. Certificates & mark sheets will be issued from the Central Board of Examination & National Development agency, Government of India. Certificates will also be given to those who get first class and distinction.
Fee Structure
Course material, examination fee and administration fee are all included in the course fee charged for the Diploma in Offshore Safety.
